Netarhat Vidyalaya, established on November 15, 1954, is a prestigious public residential school located in Jharkhand, India. Founded by Frederick Gordon Pearce under a Bihar government initiative, the school was designed to provide high-quality education, value-driven education that transcends social and economic barriers — all within a Gurukul-inspired residential setting. Pearce's vision, emphasizing character-building, leadership, and holistic development, continues to shape the institution's ethos.

NOBA GSR (Netarhat Old Boys’ Association – Global Social Responsibility) has been a powerful force in channeling the values and spirit of Netarhat School alumni towards impactful social service. Rooted in the ethos of giving back to society, NOBA GSR has launched and nurtured multiple grassroots initiatives across critical sectors, leaving a visible and lasting impact in various communities. Below is an overview of its wings:

ECONOMY BY EDUCATING AND SUPPORTING FARMERS
Netarhat’s alumni have come together to form NOBA GSR (Netarhat Old Boys Association Global Social Responsibility), an organisation dedicated to giving back to society. Through NOBA GSR, alumni extend the values they learned at Netarhat beyond the school, working collectively to create a positive impact. Guided by the motto “Attadeepa Viharath,” meaning “be your own light,” NOBA GSR operates five key chapters:
- Kisan – (कि सा न) wing is dedicated to revitalizing Indian agriculture through research, technology, and farmer support. We address challenges like land fragmentation and outdated practices by promoting modern infrastructure, innovative techniques, mechanization, and horticultural advancements, building resilient farming communities and fostering sustainable growth for India’s farmers.
- Vasudha – (वसुधा ) Wing addresses environmental challenges such as pollution, deforestation, and biodiversity loss. We focus on sustainable solutions through tree plantation, urban biodiversity conservation, water body restoration, and environmental research. Our goal is to protect endangered species through awareness, support, and training, collaborating with local communities and government agencies.
- Education – Shreeman (श्री मा न) wing is dedicated to In rural areas, children and youth often lack access to quality education due to inadequate infrastructure and limited resources. We focus on enhancing educational facilities, creating inclusive environments that foster learning and personal growth. By providing guidance and support, we empower students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and essential life skills.
- Nirog – (नि रो ग)wing ensures basic healthcare access for rural and marginalized communities across India. Overcoming geographical and socio-economic challenges, it delivers primary healthcare to underserved areas, including villages, slums, and refugee camps, and addresses menstrual hygiene by providing affordable sanitary napkins and health education, fostering dignity and well-being.
- Servicess (सेवा ) wing provides timely support to communities affected by environmental impacts, disasters, or other critical situations. As first responders, we offer immediate relief through intervention, advocacy, and awareness. We also address social issues and support marginalized groups, promoting resilience and sustainable community development.
NOBA GSR provides a platform for alumni to live by the school’s values and work towards meaningful societal change through they are collective efforts.
